  2. Earlier ones I believe have a pin stuck through them, so are a pain to remove. Someone'll be along to tell you how to get them off...

  3. but if i cant i cant get behind dash without taking the whole bludee thing off ??

  4. Are they the early ones (Metal with a plastic handle) or late ones (all plastic)?

  9. In that case, they should just pull out - mine did without too much trouble, and I couldn't see where a retaining pin would go through them. You can access the back of them to see if there is something holding them in place, if you look up at them from under the dashboard, they're easily visible from below.

They should pull off like the plastic ones - half the lever, not just the plastic bit.

  15. Hi barn I had the same issue with mine a few months back. I have the metal bars with the rubber blue and red rubbers at the top..

Mine had a plastic bolt holding them to the mechanism. I just used a long bladed slim knife to cut the plastic and then pulled the arms out.

Was a piain but I did this to get the dash clocks out.

    Hope it works

  16. hi dave , so what did you use when you put it back??

  17. just thinking im sure i had it out to do my oil temp gauge plate:confused:

  18. They slide back into the metal and this is tight. There was no need for the plastic bit holding them in place. I could not get to the dash lights any other way. I had to take the heat controllers out to get the dash out.

Mine is a 72 crossover so may be a bit different

  19. no sounds like its like mine , just wondered how it held back in their if you cut sumat off that was all , its not a plastic button that you just pushed over then with the knife no?

  20. You can get them out without cutting the locking clips, but it's quite fiddly.

I usually use a pair of bent nose pliers to close up the little lugs and a flat screwdriver to lever from the other side.

    Here's a couple of pics.
