How do I get my doorcards off?

  1. I'm embarassed to have to ask this but I've just spent an hour trying to get my passenger door card off.

It's attached to the door with 8 screws which come out OK and the door pull handle comes off by removing a couple of screws but neither the window winder nor the door opener appear to have any screws attaching them to anything (no covers hiding screws, no pop off studs....) and they both sit neatly over what is obviously a smaller hole in the door card, hence they must be removed for me to get the card off!

    What am I missing?

  2. Picture of what you have?

Normal black winder handles, the cover pops off from around the base... Then there is just a central screw!!

The door opener has a cover in the finger recess... If you pull the release and keep it pulled, there is a small screw driver slot on the front edge of the recess!!

    :)

I'll see if I can find some pics to help explain!! :)

  4. Thanks Paul - got the winder off so halfway there! Didn't want to force it but once I knew it came off that way.....

The door opener, however, appears to be a single moulded unit -

I tried levering it off around the o/s and also on the inner - you can see the screwdriver marks to the left side. If I lift the latch I can't see any screws either.....

  6. Just keep levering where those marks are on the left. The outer bit will pop out, revealing the screw underneath.

  7. OK, thanks, sussed it. Actually it's the inner bit that pops out - the piece in Paul's picture. :)

    Cheers

  8. That's the bit I meant. One man's outer is another man's inner :)
