Longer holidays and you aren't allowed to throw chalk - not that they have chalk these days.

  3. I get just long enough to come on here, post a crap joke, add to the word association game and get back again............

  4. Shorter holidays. Everyone assumes that when the students aren't here, we are on holiday. Not true. My holidays are about comparable to most people's.

And whiteboard markers fly through the air better. ;)

My point of reference is the starting scenes in Ghostbusters :)

To be honest, during my time at University the lecturers couldn't have made it more clear we were in the way of them doing their research...'

I think by law you have to have a min of 1/2 hour every 5 hours

Half hour in six. I have to comply with this rule unless I have driven for 4.5 hours in which case I have to stop and have 45 minutes break. I am in a trade where I can incur very big fines for breaking these rules.

  14. I admit, it is like this in some places, but not where I am, or anywhere I have been during my career. In all seriousness I think it's a shame when academics are like this, because they forget that the largest portion of university income these days comes from student fees. If it were not for students, they wouldn't be there.
