Longer holidays and you aren't allowed to throw chalk - not that they have chalk these days.

 

I get just long enough to come on here, post a crap joke, add to the word association game and get back again............

 

Shorter holidays. Everyone assumes that when the students aren't here, we are on holiday. Not true. My holidays are about comparable to most people's.

And whiteboard markers fly through the air better.

To be honest, during my time at University the lecturers couldn't have made it more clear we were in the way of them doing their research...'

 

I think by law you have to have a min of 1/2 hour every 5 hours

 

10 minutes every 4 hours I thought?

 

I went home for lunch today as I was between jobs. Still only had 20 mins to eat sarnies

 

I had a T2 panel brand new with a taco in it

 

As I'm retired I get as long as I like. Unless the wife is around

 

3 hours ,good in summer 1 hour eating and two on the hammock...zzzzzzzzzzzz

 

never take lunch Mon- Thurs - save it for Friday afternoon !

 

I admit, it is like this in some places, but not where I am, or anywhere I have been during my career. In all seriousness I think it's a shame when academics are like this, because they forget that the largest portion of university income these days comes from student fees. If it were not for students, they wouldn't be there.
