Following on from @Merlin Cat 's thread, who's been around a bit? Germany (West): lived in Germany (East): before the Wall came down Sweden Finland Denmark France Belgium Netherlands Liechtenstein (not worth a visit unless you're money laundering) Spain Majawca (with stuffed donkey, da da daaa daaa da da da da daaaa) Ibiza Poland Romania Italy Greece Morocco Tunisia US (east Coast) US (west Coast) many, many times Japan S. Korea ...and Yorkshire (the Mighty Leeds) Might be some more, can't remember.
What were the primary differences between a pre ‘the wall’ East Germany and a modern day Yorkshire? I think it was the bog roll, and that’s about it.
If you painted everything in Yorkshire grey and made everything crap and not working, there would maybe be a slight similarity. Truly a socialist paradise.
Visited enough countries to fill an extended passport with stamps and visas. No place like home though
Other than here, lived in Jordan aged 4 and France for a bit when I was a student. Visited: Ireland Scotland Wales France Belgium Netherlands Germany Poland Sweden Hungary Czech Republic Austria Switzerland Italy Spain Andorra Portugal Greece & some Islands Sardinia Ballearics Canary Islands Tunisia Egypt Jordan Sri Lanka Maldives Hong Kong China USA Canada South Africa Don't miss travelling, either for work or holiday. Happy to do any trips now in my bus. Planning on West Coast of Ireland Aug 2025

? Struggling with that comment…. DDR was my assignment in my A level geography…. I’m sure it was a compass/sythe surrounded by sheaves of wheat.
Wales France Mainland Spain Island’s. Mallorca Ibiza Lanzarote Tenerife portugal Greek islands Kefalonia Mykonos cyprus Isle of Wight And the kingdom of arrgate
Okay, lets have a think... might have to edit as I tend to miss places out.... England Ireland (North and South) Wales Scotland France Belgium Netherlands Norway Switzerland Lichtenstein Spain (mainland and islands) Italy Greece (islands) Turkey Slovakia Tenerife Australia New Zealand China Thailand Laos Malaysia Singapore Peru Cuba Mexico USA Canada Morocco Egypt Gambia Ghana Kenya Tanzania Zanzibar Uganda Malawi Zambia Zimbabwe Mozambique Botswana Namibia South Africa Lesotho The only places I've actually lived long enough to have a postal address would be here in England and Greece (living and working on a boat around the Dodecanese islands) Still so many places I want to go, though. India is top of the list.
I don’t think I’m that well travelled…. England, Ireland (southern) Scotland Wales France (a lot!) Italy Switzerland Lichtenstein (I bought a watch) Denmark Belgium Germany Poland Netherlands North America I think that’s it. As per another thread I’d like to do Japan but I think that’s one for when the nipper is older. I also quite fancy the Norwegian coast and some of the other Nordic countries
