or would you pay for storing or having a dry working space your vw? Just trying to work out if we can afford to take on the metal barns next to the house we are about to rent Thanks
How long is a piece of string. Dry storage from £5 a week at a guess. Anything up to £100 a week for somewhere to work. So somewhere inbetween. Sorry not much help. Even knocking £2 a week off the proposed rent = £100 a year so barter.
I was going to rent a garage in a block via the council in my village, blumming van was too tall to get it in so declined, cost was £10 a week which I was happy to pay.....
My friend is really into cars. He owns a 1965 Mustang. It has a 4.7 L racing engine in and does 0-60 in something mad like 4 secs. He built a fantastic workshop for it and behind the workshop a double width garage. Hes letting me park Polly in there from November - March. He's charging me
When my bus is ready, she'll be kept at a classic car storage centre (with 24 hour access, 7 days per week) in a heated and dehumidified garage about 10 miles away from where I live. It'll cost £65 per month. I thought that was pretty cheap seeing as some people offered to rent me a single car garage for £80 per month.
We pay £12 a week for a single garage from the council, when we put Lyndsay's car into heated storage it was £120 per month but that included trickle charge and dustsheets etc.
I guess i'm lucky, i work as a manager in a large warehouse and i'm gonna keep my van in there from the end of October or begining of November depending on the weather, I'll then do some work on it after work or at weekends and it won't cost me anything, although it's cold it's dry so i figure it's better than keeping it outside in the snow and frost.
I am sure you would find enough people to fill it but there are some headaches about insurance and security i.e who'se insurance covers what and what happens if someone breaks in or god forbid, there is a fire. How about using it for an indoor TLB camp instead?
I pay £40 a month to rent a garage across the road for me plenty of room for the van and to work on it, the only downside is that there's no power but i have a small geny to power some lights mine should be a month not week doh
I pay £20 a month, that gets me a parking space in a barn, its dry but far from being heated, and with a gravel floor only suitable for storage.
