How reliable are fuel level senders?

  1. Driving my bus back from Scotland to london with no gauge i brimmed it (always a bit iffy if you dont know the condition of the breathers and filler pipe see other threads on here) and went by the 200 mile rule and was fine, so 180 miles should be fine, but as surfgir1 says carry a full can just in case.

  2. Just realised you said fuel injected. So I'll rephrase that and say you should get 180 miles out of a full tank! I hear that they can be a bit thirstier than a normal 2 litre. Take a spare gallon anyway.
