  1. Anyone know what to do,i have a T2 1.6 petrol engine. I have just braught a tester and waiting for it
to be dilliverd. I havn't got a clue what to do,but i know you guys know your stuff
    All help is needed. . . . . . . . . .

  2. Pop the dizzy main lead remove spark plug, insert tester to cylinder, have matey peeps turn ign. key as in to start engine (which will not happen, starting I mean) say for 8 turns ,check gauge reading ,some do say more realistic result is when engine is hot, and also have known others to,after Ist reading ,if it were low ,skwirt some oil down into cylinder ,and do again cos apparently the oil provides aseal at the rings and if the 2nd reading is noticeably higher than Ist ,it indicates worn rings.(so I am told) kit you wait on may have basic instructions included ?

And do it with the throttle wide open.

  4. Thank you,i wasn't sure what to disconect as in i knew you have to remove the spark plugs.
Isn't there some thing else you have to remove,or is that it?
Hopfuly there is some instruction o_O

  5. The dizzy king lead

  6. Pull all the plugs... you'll spin the engine faster without it compressing the other cylinders, and I'd pull the main power lead to the coil, as opposed to the king lead as it will still generate a spark if it is powered!!

  7. What Paul said - whip all the plugs out, and take the green lead from the contact breakers off the coil. Better than removing the power lead, as if this shorts on the engine case, sparks will fly.

Compression tester in one spark plug hole at a time. Hold the throttle wide open and crank the engine until the gauge stops pumping up.
