Hydraulic lifters after an engine rebuild

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by Borninabug, Jun 15, 2013.

  1. Following rebuilding my t4 with hydraulic lifters I have reinstalled them. I have not fitted the pushrods and rockers as I don't want the oil to come out of the lifters. They were stored under oil but have been sat in the bores for about two weeks.
Would I be advisable for me to remove pushrods tubes again and rebuild them under oil just before I fill the engine with oil or will this be unnecessary.

    Any comments and advice appreciated

  2. You should be ok...

The key with hydros is to not use a heavy oil... 15/40 mineral is more than enough!! :)
