and install my newly purchased battery powered clock. So, I remove the 4 screws retaining the dashpod........ Do I have to disconnect speedo and fuel guage as well or just flip the whole lot over and remove the blanking plate. I dont want to wreck the whole thing for the sake of a clock
All you need is to undo the cluster screws as you mention - then stick your arm underneath the dash and unscrew the speedo cable - then you can flip it forward to unscrew the blanking plate. Move it slowly incase you pull any wires off accidentally.
Did it without removing dash. Worked from underneath with a socket set. Clock is installed. Not exactly difficult.
