Hello, Im looking for some detail pictures of the side windows on a camper.

Im after close up pics with the glass in showing how the rubber sits in the recess inside and out.

Also looking for pics of the side window aperture with the glass out showing the detail of the lip the rubber sits on and the detail inside the van, pretty much looking for pics of all the detail the van conversions dont have ..

My camper is a van conversion and Im thinking of converting it so its more in line with the busses and the glass is recesses ..

Im not worried about the metalwork, thats the easy bit, its finding good reference pics of those areas thats the problem....

    can you help... ?

  2. Not many shots of my windows yet but this is the best I have. They are purely cut outs with no recesses of any kind

Look at your tailgate as the detail is the same, same thickness glass, same profile seal etc :)

Thanks folks, the first pics are wqhat I have,,, thats a van with cut outs and Im trying to work out if its worth going to the trouble of making the structure for the inside and the return for the out side and converting to a more standard set up.. I have templates ( thanks Carl) but the next stage was the structure..

With the right seals the van conversions look pretty good but with the wrong seal they look pretty ugly, whilke the buses look better with the slight recess, its a bit of a water trap by all accounts but the look is just a wee bit preferable ... just a bit more work...

    thanks folks..

  5. Would it be easier to find some body cuts off a rotten bus and transplant them?
That's what I did with my offside middle window.

  6. I did the same with panel van conversion
I used new outer panels from schofields for the rear windows, and found a new old stock RHD middle panel on flea bay
For the inside i made my own panels to finish off the inside and add some extra support

    Outer panels fitted

Thanks for the info and pics.. on the post above, did you make fillers for the verticle opening too? nice job... probably the route to go to ensure the windows fit ...

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

I just might have the top half of a LHD middle panel (opposite sliding door). It's had a piece cut out of the corner, but not a big piece. I'll get a pic tomorrow if you're interested. £50 posted.

  9. Yeah just used some sheet steel with a right angle fold at 1 end, offered them, marked the curve of the upright and the shape of the window, cut out and welded in
There not that factory looking, but give plenty of support to the window panel and finish off the inside pretty well
