Trying to get my interior light to work and I looked at the wiring diagram on the samba and just got confused. Basically I've got two wires coming out of the door switches that are not connected to anything. I've also got a wire hangin out of the fuse box that's live (I know this because I accidentally touched it on the body work and it sparked) I think this is the interior light wire but not 100% am I right in assuming that if I connect the two wires to this one that it will work?!? It's a red wire if that helps at all.
There should be a live feed, fused, to the light, then from the light to the door switch which earths when you open the door and the little plunger pops out. Shut the door and it breaks the earth circuit. Sounds like if you do what you said you'd just be connecting a live wire to earth via the door switch?
