I can remember @1973daisey turning up at Volksworld with problems like that, with a brand new distributor cap where the centre pin had been ground away by a wonky (angled at about 30 degrees instead of horizontal) centre contact on the rotor arm, in the 150 miles he had driven it to get to the show. the cap was full of dust and there was no centre contact left.
Fortunately it was the Volksworld Show , so there were a few spares available.

  4. Well the show was little, but some nice cars etc ive not been since 2011, i walked round once bought a back up dizzy n arm and went back to the van and then chilled out and drove back to Norfolk. I just wanted to run the dub out to stretch its legs and see if it went ok..and do a shake down, it was good to just drive park n chill. So all in all it wasnt great for the money not worth it, but for going and getting to drive the vw and show it off a little was priceless ..
