Howdy folks. I had a bit of trouble last weekend when I got a puncture on the motorway (very terrible sound at those speeds) and didn't know what to do in terms of jacking up the van. Basically, I have the standard vw jack which fits into the points around the underside of van but the trouble is that the front two points seem to be a bit corroded and the jack doesnt fit properly. I want to know if I had a front flat, can I use the rear point to lift up one whole side of the van and change that front tyre or is that not possible/safe? The two rear points have caps fitted and seem to be in good working order. The alternative is of course to buy a jack that I can lift any part of the van without using the points and vw crank jack. Thanks for the help...
Iagree withyou fella but for myself I got a bottle jack (one ton ) u only have to lift the flat wheel from ground ,taking into consideration u have to be say 6 inch more in the air taking into the equation the wheel is low/flat >jack on beam ,close to wheel,or , on your driveway ? jack bus up with what you got and see if its a good idea ?
