Hi Im new here so hi everyone I am converting a VW T25 Aircooled 2.0 litre CU engine to fit in a Late VW Bay and to look like a late bay engine. I need the VW Bay large aluminium fan casing from the front of the engine and the mounting bars for the alternator plus an alternator and any of the tinware that's different If you have done this and can recommend any other parts I need or more importantly have the parts or a dead engine you want to sell please let me know. Many thanks Elizabeth
There was a couple on eBay recently (fan housings), alternator brackets are like rocking horse droppings, mine had rotted away and I found one on eBay, not cheap...
Hi I did this on mine, you'll need the majority of the tinware parts, what parts have you got already? I mean under tins etc?
@monkey harris will have all the parts you require and may do you a decent price if you're buying a set?
I might have these parts for you but I'll need to check on the alternator tin The alternator bracket isn't quite the same as generally the hole on the bottom bolts onto the heat exchanger but mines rusted off and hasn't made any difference.
Only a handful of pieces... You need the main bits like: head tins over gearbox 3 rear pieces that go round the fan shroud alternator surround tin heat exchanger stove pipes - these connect to 2 flexi pipes that then go to the auxiliary fan that aids the heating system!!
