Left over bracket. HELP

The evil garage fairies hid this at the bottom of the box that came back from the powder coasters. I just threw everything I had In to be coated. It definitely came off my 2.0l FI but I don't know where it goes. HELP



I hope I don't have to take it all apart to fit it!!!!

 

Got a feeling it fits to the oil cooler somewhere.

 

Pretty sure it Goes the the heat exchanger from the fan housing

Yep that's it. I have just paid German supply in Canada a fortune for one as mine was missing. There was an article I read that said this was vital to properly support the heat exchanger. The other side is supported by the continuation of the alternator bracket.

 

Is that for a type 1 or type 4 engine?

 

Thats a rare part - they never usually get put back!

Rats. I have the one on the alternator side but not this one.

 

Looks easy enough to make!!

 

I'll take it back off and photograph it on some 10mm squared board for dimensions if anybody wants to make a copy.

 

I reckon it would be easy to make if you had the tools, I just found them on the German Supply website while I was ordering the clutch spring retaining washer which they also had, he has a pattern and makes them (or gets someone to make them).
