Original vw left hand drive steering box removed from my 78 late bay, had some play but could potentially be adjusted or rebuilt? I managed to find a low miles original box which I swapped in - was keeping this one with a view to having it rebuilt but honestly I’m not going to get around to that - hence offering it on here. Turns freely. Stamped with (I guess) date of manufacture Dec ‘77 has original vw casting logo / part number. Made by GEMMER France. to heavy to post but happy to pack it if you wanted to arrange your own courier I’m in oxford but travel to Andover a couple of times per week £50

It has some play but i don't know how to quantify that? When i bought my bus in 2014 it had steering play, but at the time i had zero knowledge and assumed the "fix" was a new box, so i forked out for a brazilian trw box (which turned out to be rubbish but that's not relevant here). I didn't make any effort at the time to adjust this one, so it may have just needed a proper adjustment - can't guarantee that unfortunately, hence why i'm only asking 50 quid. From memory i don't think you're that far from me? Happy to meet up so you can check it out yourself before you commit?
Still thinking I’m just wondering if it’s better than my existing one. Tho to be fair at least yours doesn’t have a leak
