  11. Ok, The engine has had a revamp (minus wiring still to be done)

    Wired up a Tachometer

Also changed all the interior bulbs to LEDs

    For the Dash

    For the Interior Lights

[IMG] Its now like Daylight in the back and front

[IMG] Not 100% sure on the dash but it matches the head unit so I'll give it time.

  12. Looks good Mike, the red fuel tank bulkhead look v cool.

With the Leds on the dash do you lose the dimmer? (not that anyone ever actually uses it)

  13. Yes mate the dimmer is now null and void! But instead you can see the dials at night. Can get standard white ones too for the more reserved enthusiast

  14. ok, its been a little while since I updated the old thread.

heres what I (under minimal supervision from Birdy) have been up to.

I decided after Winter Camp and my wife refusing to join me anytime it gets cold camping to get a propex installed. Only problem was is that I didnt have a leisure battery set up.

First things first, get all the bits (thanks to Birdy and ebay) ordered. Went for a nice distribution box so you dont have to bank everything. [IMG] its not really that small, I just have massive hands ;) (thats what I tell all the ladies)

I decided to have my install under the rock n roll bed. I took off the front as I needed to drill holes through it.

I decided to get a different piece of wood as to not butcher the original.

Decided to put in a sound system whilst I was at it.

    8" Speakers in.

I between I decided to make a buddy box.
    A little coat of stain
    [IMG]
Its all finished now, just need to dig out a photo.
    Had a snooze.

A couple of weeks later, got the propex sorted so had to strip the lot out.
Decided to mount it on the back.
made a hole for the gas bottle lovely and circular - note you should always measure this with the kick panel in to get proper dimensions and so it doesnt hit the speaker :)
Gas bottle in place - note that the top handle was removable but this isnt recommended and its not back on.

made holes for the vents and decided to stain it to match the buddy box and rest of the interior
    1 coat
    [IMG]
    2 coats
    [IMG]

put 5 coats of walnut on and it looks the mutts. will post a pic of the finished article tomorrow with everything in place as it should be.

  15. Welcome to the propex club, Its warm in here :)

  16. cheers dave, warm and hopefully not too monoxidey.

    Buddy Box finished
    [IMG]

Propex test run carried out last night. Going to leave the thermastat with some spare cable just in case I decide to move it in the near future.

You didn't cut the hole for the bottle that then played it slap bang against the speaker did you?? Oh no. And what's this about the front panel and bottle height?? Minimal supervision??

  18. If I had full time supervision I wouldn't of made so many mistakes!

  19. Ok, so done a little bit over xmas.

After a wet ocktoberfest (hole in roof where handle came through fibreglass!) I decided to leave the dehumidifer inside the van to dry it out a little bit. Unfortunately, a combination of me not checking on it for a week and the overflow mech jammed, I pumped 60 litres of stale moisture onto the floor!

Floor was sodden so I decided to strip the entire interior out. I did however need to do this for a small cill repair, I just wish It wasnt all in 5cm of water.

PS all the crap I found behind, under the cupboards (30 year old food, etc) stunk like birdys finger.

Floor all clean, repaired and being painted
    [IMG]
A little bit of waxoyl, why not?

Had some lush cream carpet left over, Not very sensible but looks great at the moment.

Decided to light up all my cupboards with LEDs. No more rumaging around for tins of beans when im 5 past my best.

Also put the warm LEDs in my interior lights as the bright white was too harsh and ruining my vibe.

New tacho I got and fixed off of ebay for a £5.
