  2. Bear in mind that you might need extended stub axles or spacers on the hubs if you go for offset mini wheels. Standard units won't accommodate them and you may find offset wheels will foul the units/frame.

  3. Thats true. The rims on it are only 3.5" wide with a ET of 23mm and i've only got about about 20mm of clearance between the tyre and the frame at the moment. Even the narrowest mini wheels i can find (MWS minilites) are 4.5" with a similar offset. Thats gonna leave about 4 or 5mm of clearance which is a little tight.

Looks like the slotmags idea is out for now.:(

  4. Between rain showers i managed to get the tailgate hinges welded on.

Needs the welds smoothing out a little.

    Trial fit of tailgate board.

Ply needs a little trimming to fit nicely.

Need to buy some more bolts to fit the floor as i've managed to use them on something else. Or the garage fairies have just hidden them.

That looks brilliant, how much do you think it cost you to make?

  7. Nicely done zeb dude i love threads like this:thumbsup:

Keep it under cover though dude as theres some heavy rain supposed to be coming the next few days
Its going to look a treat when painted and stained:chewie:

  8. sANDYbAY, i reckon i've got about £120 invested in it at the moment, though the wheels and suspension units were a freebee off a mate.

Para, in its unassembled form it fits in the shed on its side so should be dry ish.
Gonna have to buy a tarp for it when its assembled though.

  11. I'm in two minds on which colour to paint the wheels. Currently they are rust speckled silver.

Not sure whether to stick with silver or paint them black or white.

Silver or white, unless you're running chrome hubcaps on them

  13. Looks great, keep it up. Seems simple enough when following your thread. LOL Are you considering some type of "rib" to keep the tarp from holding water when stagnate ? And how are you going to find that in your rear views when backing up? Maybe plastic corner markers?

  14. It was built for the purpose of carrying my missus mobility scooter if we go away to a show.

Its one of these and is a big beastie (sits about 3ft high with the seat folded forwards) so not really a problem of water pooling on the tarp.

It'll eventually get a tilt and bows fitted but for the time being I was thinking of maybe fitting a pole in each front corner so i can see it though the back window.

  15. Got the tailgate all built up today.
