Morning everyone, we have just bought a 1979 westfalia which we are planning to use on our family holiday to France this summer. I wondered if anyone knows a good company to take out some roadside assistance with while we're in Europe? On my initial limited search the age of our camper seems to be an issue? Thanks for any responses Dan
Hi Dan, we have just taken out Rac cover. Its personal , so we are covered rather than the vehicle. They said our van'72 and bug'69 are covered with them. Hope they were telling the truth. Welcome to the Yorkshire branch of TLB.
welcome along buddy a lot of the dedicated classic insurers offer this on their policies. however there are several people on here that have european cover so i'm sure it wont be long till you get an answer
Welcome Dan As Dog said, most insurers offer cover within the policy, I'm with Adrian Flux and get 90 days European cover Free every year.......and yes I have had to use it.
Hi and Welcome. Just to add to the confusion we are with the AA although we have never had to call them but now I've said that will no doubt be calling them soon.
Crikey! You guys don't hang about do you??!! Looks like I need to ring a few insurers anyway, as I don't pick the camper up til Saturday it's not insured yet so I'll try to combine insurance with roadside assistance. Thanks for such quick replies, when I get back on Saturday I'll have millions of questions to keep you on your toes!! Thanks dan
Welcome to the forum Dan, good luck with your new westy - when you pick it up, dont forget to show it off!!
I think I'm going to go with a quote from just kampers, they have an add-on breakdown assistance package which includes European cover thanks for your responses though. So just to let you know which bay I'm getting, it's a 1979 ( i think!) westfalia lhd with original full width bed interior, it has a Subaru 2.2 16v engine fitted with a brake and suspension upgrade too, the bodywork looks ok to my untrained eyes with a few rust patches to sort out. We're very excited about picking it up on Saturday and the drive home from Cambridge will be a nervous one I think :-
Welcome to the forum. I've had my van for 8 months and have always found answers to my questions on here either by putting up a new thread or searching for ones. Everyone on here is friendly and the few that I've met have been great. One thing you'll find out pretty quick is that we love pictures on here so as soon as you get it take a load of pics and get them put up!!
Welcome to TLB, we've had our '74 devon for about 18 months now, and the help, encouragement, advice and guidance I've recieved here has brilliant ;D
