Hi there I have been an owner of my van for just a week now. She's a 1971/2 SA import crossover with a Westfalia conversion She is in really great condition and I bought it based on its original underside with no more than light surface corrosion and no welding or patches. As air-cooled VWs are new to me (though I am a experienced home mechanic), I will no doubt have lots of questions as I get to know and then start to maintain the bus Anyway, here she is:
Ooh she’s a beauty! Welcome from down in the depths of the New Forest. You’ve certainly found the right place to get questions answered..... .......You might not get the answer you expect. It might not be particularly relevant. Or relevant at all. Chances are it’ll involve London Pride, gimp masks, and what your favourite cheesy one hit wonder is from the 1970s. It may well currently involve Gus Honeybun and Pam Ayers. But rest assured, there will be plenty of answers! Enjoy. And more pictures please.
Thanks for the welcomes so far guys. I did wonder what kind of forum I have joined when I see 'cross*ver' is auto-corrected to crossdresser...
The cross dressers will be along soon, there’s one from “sunny” Barnsley you should stay well clear of Welcome from East Grinstead
Hello and Welcome from The Colonial Contingent . . . . . . . . I'm one of the few sane and sensible people on here.
