NewtoVW/tinworm - Slow restoration thread.

  8. Picked the bus up two weeks ago. [img[​IMG][​IMG]
    The crushed velvet interior is in the bin.

    The previous owner had fixed it in place with a thousand rivets.
     
  9. Cool bus what size are those steel wheels on it?

    I spy somthing interesting looking behind the bus aswell

    Any advice/help you need, shout up - same as what has already been said, we all like to see a resto project taking shape, plenty of pics is essential!

  13. I had a look at the engine on the VW today.. 2 litre CU code engine with twin dellorto carbs.

  16. Welcome dude, we have only had our bus 6 months so still a newbie and a complete novice. I have been made very welcome here and have been given loads of good advise along with the already existing resource hidden away on the forum.

    If your ever struggling to find anything just ask and there is always someone around who can find it for you.

  17. Thanks Robo, this is the best site I can find for VW info :) And thanks to all who have given their valuable knowledge.
    I'm guessing that I'm not alone finding it tough to work in the freezing cold raining miserable weather so..I've found a workshop and rented it.. Just need to move the bus to it's new home and crack on with the resto.

    Hi and welcome to tlb , i can't see how the removable valance thing will do any good once you're up and running , the tinware needs to be sealed to the body with a seal strip and with the back bars you have in place of a valance it doesn't look like it will seal .
