No ignition lights or power at all

  1. Just been driving my bus about. Went to petrol station filled up, then went to start the bus. No ignition lights, or bat power at all. It kinda started turning over then just stopped.

I've checked battery and all is connected ok, battery has power and 12v. I've checked wires on starter for a lost connection maybe to front end. I've unplugged ignition and plugged in again invade of a loose wire and I've checked all is still plugged in in the fuse box but still no power.

I've not got hazards, interior lights or anything. Almost as if there's an earth problem or something? Any ideas what to check next? As I'm a bit stuck. Now gonna get towed home.

  3. Give all the fuses a good clean. Had same symptoms on mine a while back and it was a dodgy fuse.

  5. think i would start at the fuse box check for power at all points with the ignition off then on
check the earth point from the battery terminal they can either come loose or corroded at the body connection
check the earth from the chassis to the engine or gearbox
    its a process of elimination
but the outcome will probable be an earth fault

    good luck

  6. Well as I'm wearing a suit and don't wanna ruin it, I ended up gettin green flag out.

He tested earth at batter and battery to engine both were good and as they should be. He then tested wires at ignition and I do have a live up here. So it's gotta be an earth fault at the fuse box. He's now left and I've got an hour to wait till the tow truck arrives so I'm gonna have a tinker.

  7. Do you have any new fuses. Can't remember if it 9 or 10. Should be the only 2 red ones in the fuse box. If you don't have a new one try swapping them over. Mine looked ok but it was knackered.

  8. It seems I have now decided I'm not working tomorrow and I'm gonna fix the bus will report back my findings.

  9. There is no earthing at the fuse box.

Possible something's dragging the battery down when you try to start it.

  10. Might sound a bit off topic but what carb are you using?
