Non standard seats

  1. I ve original seats fitted but I m getting a numb bum on long hauls. The seats are in good nick springs and cushioning are fine, just not enough comfort. So I m in the market for some new seats. Trouble is I m 6'3" with a long knackered back. Mrs Pony. Fancies captian seats but I m unsure if I d fit, I ve already got the Bay drivers hunch bad enough. Any suggestions greatly appreciated

Captains chairs from a T3/T25 will fit, although you may have to change the seat runners. If you have a deluxe Microbus you will either have to remove the outer armrest or the existing armrest/heater section.
I've got a pair to go into the camper when the interior is refine in the near future.

  3. I've got some seats from an Audi A4 to go in for improved comfort and seating position (hopefully). I'm only 5"8 and my eye level is pretty much at the top of the door frame with the existing seats(currently have Ford KA seats in which the PO put in)! They A4 seats are in great nick and look OK, i'm hoping to wire up the electronic lumbar controls too, in anticipation of growing old with the van! Not 100% that they'll fit yet but they were a bargain I couldn't resist.

  4. Cheers bud. My mates van has them but they re too high, my heads into the headlining; ironicaly. I need slammed seats:)

  5. We've got Rover SD1 seats. Very comfy. Not too high (and I'm 6'0"). They were installed by a PO so I can't say how easy it was to get them in.

  6. there's quite a few threads on the Volkszone forum about different seats, a lot seem to go for, porsche tombstones, Saab, old escort recaro seats and MGF seats.

  7. Willp you deccadant hedonist! Got me thinking now. I once had a volvo with heated seats and when Mrs Pony had been out of order I d switch hers on when she wasn't looking:)

  8. I drive a Volvo V40 it has heated seats! Nice and Toastie and not bad comfort either, don't know about fitment but i'm sure i have read posts that these have been fitted into vans.

  9. I put Saab's in but I would stay away due to height. Very comfy but slightly high
