Panel Clips

  1. Time for me to think about interiors.....can I use beetle type hidden clips on the bare ply pre cut sets available, instead of the chrome push thru clips........I'm guessing yes, but thought I'd check.
At 70p each, the push button clips will nearly be as much as the bare panels!

  2. 70 pence each:eek:

    Wheres that from?

    Blimey.
Look somewhere like Woolies Trim. They may have them without the 90% scene tax.

  5. Cheers for that...........they look useful,

Thats my original question, can I use these on the ply panels so they reach the holes when hooked on.......as I said before I'm guessing yes, but wanted to check!

  6. If the ply isnt very thick i cant see why not but they would look poo if your not covering the ply panel

Can't see why not; its what they're for.

  8. Hence why the 70p ones scared me........at least now if I don't cover them I can use the black ones........thanks for that link!
The ply is 3mm so I agree, they should fit......

  9. Those black ones i linked to might not be the correct size i just used those to give you an idea

I will be using somthing like those on my bus as there loads cheaper than the other types

I'd have thought 3mm would be fine, most panels must be atleast that.
70p per clip is nothing but a ******* take!

  11. I had the chrome push through clips on the rear door trim panel of my van. When I made a new panel with 4mm ply, they wouldn't hold. I ended up buying some fir tree panel clips off Amazon. I think they were about £3.50 for 25 (including P&P). They worked really well and there's no danger of them 'popping' out.

  12. Heh......after all this, I finally tried the panels for fit..........the flookin holes dont line up anyway.........
Guess I'll definately be covering them and using the 'hidden' clips then......:)

  13. I'm also interested in the answer to this.... My holes didnt line up and the silver push through ones I bought from eBay (with the scene tax added) are too big for the hole!!! once i force one on, when I pull it off the one side of the clips is pushed in!! I'd hate to have to screw these panels on - but im stuck!

The holes dont line up exactly if the panel is intended to have the hidden clips, they kind of pull the panel outwards>

  15. I'm guessing your panels are the ply ones too?....I ended up using the hidden clips, but not ebay scene tax ones........they came from Wurth.
They took a bit of fettling as the ply is thicker than the original card, but worked really well......once lined up!....
See my thread in resto's for pics..........
