Rear drum brake assembly

  1. First off, when you install new horse shoe clip on the handbrake bar pivot, does it need a light squeeze with pliers to tighten it up? Don't think it's going to fall off, but seems bit loose/went on very easily compared to taking old one off.
And the brake cylinder bolt. My old ones were bolted from behind, but looking in my book they're bolted from the front. Does it make any difference?
    Cheers

  2. loose... give it a small squeeze bruv ...just to pinch it in a bit IF u feel it needs it ......im a brake specalist but sorry i dont know nothing bout the vw bay brakes yet til i work on them...but i do know diff years have diff bits and mounts

  3. But i do normally go by the green vw book ....some of my engine bits were put on wrong etc etc by previous owners ....so double check ....fit by book....test drive and see bruv....its only brakes...nuffin spacestation there really

  4. Actually scrub the bit about the brake cylinder, the cylinder housing is threaded so it has to bolt from behind, I'm a dumbass. Cheers johnny, will nip those little blighters up xx
