Hi, Not sure if this would interest others, but I thought I'd share, as I've found this to be VERY helpful. I installed a large double DIN intelligent Radio systems in my Van. Its branded a Paramount, but there are a number of them on the market around the world. besides the standard radio features, this also plays DVD\CD,s and has variable slots to plug in SD card or memory sticks for "new technology". probably an Android back end that drives this all. It also has an awesome free GPS system, and has a multitude of AV inputs. I decided to use those up, and mounted a reversing remote camera on the back of my Van, and a second camera with an Interior light inside the Engine Compartment. This allows me to see if the belt is still there, nothing smoking etc. Should I see something, I can then trigger my remote fire extinguishing system. I also have a small HD TV in the back, which can send or receive signals from the DVD player or memory cards, and it's remote controlled. all in all, it works great and adds to the individuality of our bus. regards Alan
Have you test your remote fire extinguishing switch... do you think you should as it would be a right arse if you had a fire and the switch didn't work
The best way to test them is to light a small fire in your engine bay, just put a little nick in a fuel pipe and start the engine. Once you see flames flick the switch. If the fire goes out, your switch is fine.
Mine deploys by actually squeezing the extinguisher nozzle. So as long as the tank has pressure, it'll work 100%, nd no, I'm not going to test it. I also have a 2nd hand held tank in case.. And I frequently monitor engine details, check hoses etc.. I'm overly paranoid, and technically minded that way.
I have a similar double din system, had it over 2 years and is great for reversing right upto the workbench in the garage. at the moment the video graphics aren't working that great and is a little blurry.
I have a similar set up with a reverse camera installed just above the number plate. It takes power from the coil so only switches when the ignition is on.
Like it. Where did you get it from? Any link?/what did it cost you if I could ask Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hi, here's the rearview camera just under the numberplate light. This is powererd from the reverse lights, so as soon as you engage reverse, the screen shows the view through this camera.. Dig the small things.. ;-) Alan
