  1. Anyone know of one with a big enough door to get your van in.
Atspeed racing in Basildons door is too low I could let the air out of the tyres but it’s that expensive helium stuff the tyre shop put in last year. ;-)

    Fanks!

  2. There is a guy near Lakeside shopping centre, but DO NOT go there. He kept me waiting hours and said he didn't know why he worked on 'these pieces of Marmite'!

A little further but there is a guy across the county border in Cambs near Duxford who did mine. Reccommended. Give me a shout if you are interested and I will find his details.

Cool if you have the details that’ll be good thanks!

  4. Do you mean Wiltshire’s garage? If Peter Baldwin is still there, that man is a genius.

  5. Mini forum says it closed last year due to insurance too expensive

  6. That’s really sad. Peter was past retirement and had at least one hip replaced but he was a wizard at tuning. I wonder if he has set up independently as a ‘hobby’. Hope so.

  8. ^ This. Apparently Peter is working there on a part time basis and passing on his skills. My van came out with 40% more grunt than it arrived with.

  10. @S1mon I’ll ask my man who knows these things I’m seeing him in the morning

  11. Thanks hun! X

  12. I’m sure @Razzyh had his bus rolling road tested here at some point. He said they were good. I’m sure his results may however be slightly different since attaching the scoring motor lol!!

Actually having now read the thread, seems Baldwin is now enjoying his retirement there.

If you can wait, it’ll be well worth it.

Or if you can't wait and a re prepared to travel to darkest Derbyshire, another Peter, Peter Burgess is also recommended. He and Keith (who owns several classics including a Splittie) know their stuff.
I travelled down to Alfreton from the Norf and it was well worth the trip, even getting with getting up at 4:30am .
