WANTED scrap type 4 exhaust

Hi, I'm after a type 4 exhaust if anyone has one going for scrap. I only need to to cut the flanges off to make some gaskets/washers to space my exhaust out a bit as it is touching the rear tin, so condition of the exhaust is not important as long as the flanges are solid.

I live in the West Midlands, probably too heavy/big to be worth posting so if anyone has one locally I could collect, or could possibly if someone could cut the flanges off and post just them (obviously i'd pay the postage!) as they would be cheap to post.

How thick do they need to be?? Might be easier to knock up something new out of some plate steel!!

 

Would aluminium spacers be ok?

 

Why not just buy a couple of pairs of crush gaskets? Or just bend the header a bit to pull it clear of the fan case?

 

Maybe... Melting point of aluminium is 660°c, so you should be ok...

I made these, but then my exhaust hit the new tow bar. They are in my garage somewhere.....

Many thanks Silver - they fit perfectly and the exhaust is now on and touching...nothing ! (except for the heat exchangers of course!).
