Show me your full width r&r bed layouts....

  1. We're planning out a conversion of our new panel van & fancy going full width on a rock & roll bed and need inspiration for the rest of the van layout, so..... show me yours (please!) x

  2. I'll put a pic on later if I can get around to it, but I would say don't bother (unless you don't need the storage) - the only benefit we have is that we can have our two year old in with us and put the boys "upstairs", so the van can sleep 5. I would definitely have a narrower R&R bed if I could.

  3. Thanks :) Its a dilemma tbh. 1st van was T25 hightop - 3/4 r&r me & 2 toddlers sleeping in it, 2nd van tin top panel T25 was fw r&r &either me & hub or the 2 kids slept in it , others in awning. Sold it to my dad and he converted it to a 3/4 width, I stayed 1 night in it with hubby and seriously hated it (panic attack!!) This time we've a panel tintop bay, won't need much else in other than a bed as we'll use an awning for most stuff.
Looking forward to seeing your pics - thanks!

  8. I don't have any photo but sketched quickly my current layout. I used to have a Westfalia Helsinki Layout with a full width bed but I think this works much better (it's a left hand drive):

I built the kitchen and buddy seat myself, the idea being it will sit up to 5 people round a small table and still have a decent size kitchen. The table swings round to store between the seat and the kitchen an makes a handy extra workspace when preparing food. I don't really find storage an issue, I go away with a lot of mates quite often and we just pile everything in. The kitchen contains on one side the 3-way fridge and the other side a 2.5kg gas bottle with a shelf over that has all the cooking and eating stuff, under the sink. The buddy seat has the water tank for the sink underneath, and a small generator I can take out when going to festivals and stuff. I've just come back from holiday so it's a bit of a mess at the moment but when I've cleared it out a bit I'll take some pics!

The only problem I find with the design is the swing arm for the table gets in the way when you pull the rear bench out into a bed, so you have to take the able out and stow it first. It's not annoying enough to do anything about it though!
