    It’s hard to beat home grown veg isn’t it. We gave up our allotment last year when we moved :(. Mind, we were pretty crap at growing most things apart from peas and spuds. :D

    It definitely tastes better than supermarket veg, and I do have a bit of a smile knowing I grew it myself. I can manage to grow broad beans, peas and potatoes with a modicum of success, and this year wasn't bad for carrots - but the ground is seriously stony round here, so they do end up being quite oddly (and often rudely) shaped!! I only grow stuff that I like to eat too, and where I stand a chance of winning the war against pests, as I don't use any chemicals (ruling out greens as I can't bring myself to squash all the cabbage white caterpillars!)
    Can you get an allotment where you've moved to?

    No need really, we had it at the old place because we only had a small garden. Got more than enough room at the new place to grow some stuff, it’s just getting my a*se into gear :D. Plus, allotments round here have stupidly long waiting lists :mad:

    We waited about 8 years for ours. Those Saltaire allotments look amazing. Who wouldn’t want to grow stuff there? :thumbsup:. How’s the sun? It’s bloody freezing here :D
