Hi Guys, Do any of you know where I can get some top seals for my standard twin Solex carbs? These are the thick 'ribbed' rubber seals that fit from the top of the carbs into the inside of the air box 'funnels' that lead to the air filter. I have the type four 2.0 litre CJ engine with the original standard air box. I have finally got around to rebuilding the carbs and found that one of these seals was kinked inside the funnel and is now proper scrap. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would be much obliged! I have had a look around, but the seal/restoration carb kits don't seem to include these. Thanks in advance, Lawts.
Don't think anyone sells them, may need to make some or look for some thing equivalent. If you find some I would be interested to know where from.
By the way, has anyone had a go at rebuilding these? Any snags? I stripped them out today. The bodies have gone off for ultrasonic cleaning. I intend doing the full shebang including throttle spindle bushes. Wish me luck (there's an awful load of bits....)
