what is the best stock single carb to run on a 16tp?does it come with choke or is it seperate.what about gaskets,metal the best ones?where can i get these from without too much aggro and are they chinese made? thanks for looking and replying. sharky.
The best carb would be a nos or refurbed Solex 34pict 3. They generally do come with the choke. You can buy the gasket separately in most good VW stockists.
The best carb is your old solex given a good strip and clean, rebushed if necessary. Not hard to do. It'll be better than anything you can buy. There's not much in a carb that wears out. They usually just get gummed up with muck.
