  1. Stock all the way

Unless we get alloys in which case alloys all the way

  2. You saying my bus is crappy looking! Well you obviously wouldn't speak to me on a site would you lol
Other than that I'd like to buy his wheels hehe ;)

  3. Here's a better view of the bus to help your judgement.

  4. Blimey talk about twisting my words ;) You wanna see my badly painted wheels, but they are better that when they were rusty....
OT: Actually I rather like rat look buses I think Lardy looks cool too (surely not a ratty? ) and what you've done with the inside really interests me. :)

  5. Are the newly powder coated ones white or silver? If white definitely go with them and pay out for the more expensive chrome hub caps IMHO :)

  6. i think the empis look good. That's what i have. Always think standards look really small on a Viking which looks top heavy any way and im convinced the drive is better with the wider track, better feedback and firmer handling. Who gives a craaaapp about anyones preference for standard based on shiny hubcaps. Empis at least look right for the period and aren't just there so you can please that part of you that wants a Porsche (for some reason). Funny really - ive had someone express their surprisethat ive got empis fitted. Why? Looks better IMHO anddrives better!

  7. The only alloy wheel I'd like to put on my bus:

New Beetle "Heritage" alloy wheels. As fitted to beetles from 2012 onwards. I think they're 16 or 17 inch. Bonus is, they're 5x112 fitment. :D

  9. Ewwww... Those new beetle wheels are quite awful!! But thats just me :)

I think your bus looks fantastic on the Empi's, but would definitely look great on standard steels too...
I think the steels might look better personally, depending on colour. (I think that might be a first for me!!)
Freshly powdercoated white ones would look the nuts, especially with new hubcaps,
but I certainly understand what your saying, new hubcaps are obscenely expensive if your not sure..

Either way make sure you avoid the 'summer chrome' abominations..

Stock wheel always look good with beauty rings and shiny caps. lt's all an added cost. Or change the alloys. There are many variants out there. Gas burners have always been a favorite of mine.

Go up a tyre size. The profile looks wrong. Barry runs on 205/70 15's on his alloys @rickyroo l found the size.

  12. Stock.
I've got alloys on my T5 and I hate them.
I wish when I bought it they knocked a few squid off and left the steelies on.
No alloys is going nearly pick up.

Steel of course, alloys look silly on an old slug of a bus.

  14. those heritage wheels are 17" btw and yes they are 5x112 but the centre bore is wrong so they won't just bolt on without modification. shame they're not 16" as i think 17" is too big on a bus.

  15. My preference would be original steels....although Empi's look good too and would look better with different tyres.

Having said that I've often thought about a set of Porsche Teledials....

  16. I'm thinking either, but possibly increase the
tyre profile. Also stay with silver as it ties in with the footstep.
I'm currently running Wella steels, but will eventually swap to stock with Baby Moons, although I do like Slotmags...

    Each to their own.
I don't like Empis, like those new Beetle wheels, like Cosmics, like old school 356 etc etc.
    Modern alloys look gash imho.

  18. 15" steels ...alloys that came with the van are binned 8)

  19. 15" steels look good but they're wide 5 fitment so no good on a late bay.

If you've powder coated your original steel wheels check that that the coating isn't too thick on the lugs that hold the wheel caps on.....mine was and they were a tw&t to fit and then fell off going around corners.
