So went for a Sunday drive today in the bus get up to 50 and there is an almighty rattling coming from the sliding door thinking the door is coming off I'm shouting trying to pull over the dog is by the door ready to jump for it wifey has a look in the mirror and the keys are still in the door lock!!! I pulled over sharpish and pulled them out I thought as soon as we spotted them they would fly out that's usually what happens to me. I have all the door keys on a separate keyring so I don't put stress on the ignition barrel . Note to self remember keys!
I read a story somewhere that somebody,s barrel broke because they had their keys hanging off it and the weight over time it pulls the barrel down they must have been talking bilge!
Its more likely That you would leave the keys in the door and driving off damaging the door than damaging ignition barrel i would say
In 50 yrs Ricky you will be thanking us for that bit of advice when your ignition barrel goes ha ha I also do it on my motorbike but that's to stop scratches!!
Something else I noticed today was the amount of kids that absolutely love the van and wave at you. And I can also see them saying to their parents can we get one of them
Thank the lord VW didnt call it a "Hollywood". Or did our Jimmy prefer grass on the pitch Im not sure!
a dvla check shows the reg as non existent - i guess like all his other cars they got new number plates, pity the poor sods who paid 1000's of pounds for his old cars!
No stress on my barrel as the key has been know to jump out while driving or I have taken it out for fun.
