Didn’t take Rishy many minutes to jump on the bandwagon though ! At least Starmer is a football supporter. As a scouser and LFC season ticket holder I am portrayed by the media as an Engerlund team hater. …..Well occasionally the media get it right

Yeah, the flag should stay as intended… absolutely no need to mess with it

Doesn’t bother me, yes I’m an England fan but it really doesn’t make much difference to me at all. I wouldn’t care less if there wasn’t a national flag in the world, they’re so last century!

I actually sort of agree with his. So where did the Idea of flags for different countries come from? Was it just in war so you could see who was who, on a battlefield, maybe? Never really thought about it, tbh.

Mainly war and recognition. Obviously signalling and the need to identify different groups.

The signalling bit was probably the most important bit of that information, apparently the British empire made signalling a fine art and used to signal widely across the world to help expand the empire, but obviously it was nice to recognise who was friend or foe too!

The British empire semaphore system was very well organised and is worth a read in itself!

That’s it run aground I saw it on the tele the other day. I knew it was something like that. Three balls up the flagpole!

  18. Anyway instead of messing around with the countries vehicle identity GB plate that was in place for 100 odd years and replacing it with the pretentious UK post Brexit vehicle identity plate , we are now supposedly UK would it not be better to change the union flag to include Wales,
As I understand it wales is part of the uk.

And some say Cornwall is a separate country, too.
