  1. Hi,

I was after some advice I have been doing some work the engine and fitted a power spark dizzy along with it.

I had a look at a few topics and google searches but wanted some clarity.

I have several marks but some look home made on the pulley, I have the dimple and the 2 marks after it.

When its set to tdc via the dimple the dizzy rotar arm is pointing towards plug 1 (rear right) Should this be right? or should the plug leads be moved around to make that number 1 firing order?

    Thanks

  2. At TDC, the rotor arm will either point at the plug lead for cylinder 1 or 3, depending on which one of the cylinders is on its compression stroke...

  3. my rotor arm is pointing 90 degrees anti clockwise (facing the crank case label )

  4. If the plug lead for no 1 cylinder is next to the mark on the dissy body, you're fine. Static time the engine (if that's what you want to do) to 7.5* BTDC.

  5. Thanks, these cheapo powersparks done have any marks on the bodys

  6. If you turn the engine to TDC on the compression stroke (not the exhaust stroke), find what the rotor's pointing to and stick no 1 lead in there. Then go round the dissy cap clockwise for leads 4, 3, 2.

  7. Cheers, it seems my number 1 on the dizzy cap is 1 back from the norm.

  8. It'll depend on whether the drive dog on your dissy is in the same place as on Bosches, and whether the dissy drive shaft has been put in properly.

Either way, your dissy doesn't care, as long as the plug leads are in the right order. The mark on Bosch dissys is to show when you're on no 1 compression stroke (and not the exhaust stroke).
