It may be dirt in the reset mechanism of the odometer. Remove speedo, Clean mechanism with IPA carefully.
Or try jabbing the reset smartly but not too hard.

Alternatively, write the numbers down in ze leetle book.

Add 200 miles to the last fillup. Hey Presto you can work out your MPG over the long term too. The odometer has gone over 100K miles.. 20180720_174259.jpg

  5. I'm thinking to turn on the dark side.....

  6. You may find the trip goes up to 9 and then stops.... either way take the speedo out and check the small cog on the end - its likely to be cracked and so not gripping the shaft (oooo-errr missus) - superglue is your friend...

  7. CheersAbout to take it out now...

  8. Start working again 4Km ago without me touching it..??

  9. And only last 4km it's out now!

  10. Now do I need to glue plastic cog to the shaft?(cog had split and had some glue now..)

If it needs to glue to the shaft, I would roughen the shaft where it goes inside the gear. And another thing I did a million years ago on a VCR (?? Cassette eject gears) was wrap several turns dacron sewing thread round the boss on the gear and araldite it to itself by soaking it in araldite 18 hour epoxy glue. Stops the boss splitting so easily.

I think I used epoxy glue as superglue usually is completely useless except for sticking your fingers to other parts of your anatomy. Nothing much glues nylon. Unless you can find some evil solvent that dissolves it then evaporates leaving a solid lump of pure plastic.
