I have an 1800 type 4 bottom end/crankcase for sale. Engine code is AP. Can't really tell you that much about it as I got it from Grazzer who had got it as a spare for parts. All he could tell me is that it has quite substantial end float and is also in need of a new cam shaft - although all four solid followers are in place should it turn out the cams are OK. Crankshaft and con rods are included and look to be OK. Note that a few of the long head mounting studs are missing. Although very dirty I can't see any cracks anywhere in the case and so it looks to me like an ideal starting point for a rebuild. No idea what it's worth, so how about starting at £50 and feel free to make me offers. This would definitely need collecting from Kidlington, Oxford, and ideally as soon as possible as it's sat in my van at the moment and need it gone! I will have one of the heads, and some of the pistons and barrels from this engine for sale soon - just need to sort them out, check them over and take some pictures! Any questions then please ask and I'll do my best to answer, however I can't say I know much about engines! Also, if you want photos of any particular bits then just let me know what. Thanks. Nick...
Thanks for the offer but am hoping I can get more than £50 for it and so i'll decline the offer. Thanks anyway
Have asked lhu1281 if he wants it for £50 and sadly he's already got hold of an engine in the meantime
I've no idea whether it was measured properly. Flywheel was already missing when I got it and I was told that it had "substantial" end float. Was given it as a "buy one get one free" gift with a 2 litre bottom end that I'm using as a base for a rebuild! Anyway, think I have conned Oscar it to taking it off my hands in exchange for an alternator bracket
