WANTED Type 4 Plastic Alternator Seal

Discussion in 'Late Bay Parts Classifieds' started by allibus, Jan 29, 2014.

  1. It probably has a "proper" name but that must be close. It'sthe plastic plate which I expect forms part of the cooling for the alternator

Another one of those hard to get bits I bet

    Mine looks like this

  2. If you track down a source of them please share as mine is in need of replacing too!

    Thanks.

  3. I bought the last 10 in stock a couple of years ago, will dig out the details

  4. Cheers pkrboo, I've searched the tinternet but haven't found anyone advertising them yet.....

  5. Core that was a while ago, I will try and find the link to where a bought them from

  6. Thanks PeaSoup good spot!!

I've spoken to them and a reasonable price but £22 postage  I could risk non- tracked at bit cheaper but I might as well throw my money away in my view.

There is some good news, they can include (in the same package) a cooling elbow for £9 and as these are £26 + Post from JK there seems to be an opportunity here :). As in, I need one and might buy two ;)

  7. Thanks, I'll look into that too!

  8. No problem - mine is usable but not brilliant - just thought if I could get one I'd swap it when I do my engine later in the year.

  9. I will check to see if I have any left, I might have stashed myself a spare

  10. I'm after an earlier one, have emailed Gods Good to see if he can locate some but still waiting to hear back. So if anybody does have some spare, please keep me in mind? :)

  11. After months (years!?) of my Viking languishing in bits, now the 'surge' is on to finish it.

This seal seems to still be unavailable, so I'm trying to get some made - has anyone got one they can draw a round to make a template?

    Thanks!

    Gerry

  12. Sorry mines in and, hopefully, not coming out for a long time !

  13. Thanks! Could you trace around it on paper for me and take some photos?

    Thanks!

    Gerry
