Blimey Sven just seen your updates, Vincent looks amazing!!!! 8) You've done a fantastic job and I love that steering wheel, it's beautiful!
Thanks! I haven't been on lately, or home for that matter.. Winter is slow... I don't have a garage, so I can't do much, all I can do is fiddle around with little bits on our dinner table. :-X I collected some nice rounded bumpers from Brazil, haven't fitted or painted them yet. I much prefer the round bumper look to the American style (i know, latebay traitor) Since i have an original grey face clock, I didn't want to take that out, but wanted to have a rev counter, I got a spare instrument cluster (just in case something goes wrong) and modiffied an Alfa Romeo mechanism to mount on the back of the first instrument panel. That's just empty space anyway. There's no room to fit anything inside, so it had to go on the back... and i just drilled and soldered on a longer shaft. The dial was then used from an mk2 Golf and shortened, as it's the same design as the bay window dial. (and that's what i had at home) I used white "letraset" to print the marks on the face (not really satisfied, but I didn't have much to choose from what i found at home) Fitted some additional, but original switches to the dash. The fog light and rotating light were like trying to find the holy grail! (the ambulance fan switch is fitted too, but not pictured) I went a bit crazy with the switches, payed ridiculous amounts for them just because i set my mind to having them. I JUST LOVE THEM! They go CLICK- CLACK when you pull and the little light comes on... they are just ADORABLE! ;D ;D Hello, my name is Sven, and I have an electrical switch fetish.
Very nice. Love the dash and steering wheel. Good to see some new ideas. It goes to show you don't have to spend a fortune to get a great result. ( lots of skill and hard work spent )
