I often get calls where my number has been passed on in the countryside with people asking for help with strange problems Tonights call is a first ever and is going to make for an interesting visit Theres a women who breeds peacocks whos adamant a big cat is taking her birds Three in the last week have gone and she says its dark grey and bigger than a greyhound
Weird animal to measure it against, racing greyhounds are huge! You gonna dress like a peacock to stalk it para?! Shake your tail feathers fella!
You got any camera traps? Would make for interesting viewing.... Lion crap from the nearest Zoo would probably do the job.... bet it's an irish wolfhound...mate of mine used to go AWOL for days, and come back bruised and battered...got put down for killing sheep at a farm about 5 miles away!
good luck para , we had a pair of cocks walk up our drive once and like a twit we called the rspca , prob could have got a few quid for um lol, or nice sunday roast
Can't shoot it for doing what comes naturally....whatever it is...unless she breeds them for a living and she can claim a material threat to her livelihood...unlike Badgers Who as we all know are solely responsible for the spread of TB in cattle...not If you've been following the cull it's a complete and utter farce... Experts say that a certain percentage of the local population has to be eradicated in order for the cull to be effective...below this percentage, a cull could have the complete opposite effect, and will encourage surviving badgers to spread into newly available territories, thus render the entire process counterproductive. When asked how big was the incumbent population the same experts couldn't say....so how can they formulate a percentage of an unknown quantity....Total Boll*cks, and an inexcusable attack on what is one of our most endearing native species....vaccination too costly my arse...if they extend the cull to my neck of the woods, i'll be out there with my torch and whistle
I dont have camera traps as there expensive to buy and im an old school type of guy Your on the button with it being a dog though and that what im expecting to find pads of when i walk the ground We have a bit of a problem round here with people from further up north travelling down with running dogs to poach deer When they get disturbed or somthing on the scanner twigs them they drive off and leave the dogs Most of the time the dogs are not in the best condition and when left they do what they can to survive Through experiance ive also found you cant belive what your told from the person whos calling you as The situation or the culprit is often built up more than it is to get you to come and take a look
