What cab window scrapers?

After having a move about I've slightyl damaged one of the new cab scrapers I'd bought, tried bending it straight, but it'll never be 100%, so I'll probably be buying a new pair. The ones I have were from Custom and Commercial about 3 years ago and are a shiny chrome finish,

I've read on here but cant find the details now, what scrapers fit and dont? some are chrome and some are matt finish, reproduction or Brazilain...

Anyone point me in the right direction - as to what works, and what doesnt.

    Thanks

  3. Did they come in an Audi/Vag packet? The chrome ones I bought years ago were OEM (and Brazilian) - and fitted.

Thats excellent, it doesnt relate to the question I've asked... I'm aware of what a scraper is and where it fits

Ring round and you may find like I did a few weeks ago that everyone has shiney o/s and matt n/s (or the other way round). The only way I could get a matching pair was to buy complete door kits with high quality seals. Luckily I needed all except the main door seals anyway.

  9. Ah. That may be your prob. Mine (from JK, I think) were pukka VAG parts. I assume they still make them, although as you say the Brazilians went all-black at some point.

As far as I know the genuine scrapers are no longer available. , so pretty much a muchness chrome wise, but some of the rubber seals are better than others, try GSF if you have one local

Thinking I might trial fit them now before its all painted to see what I've got and whether it can be salvaged without beating it up too much.

You will be surprised how much easier they are to manipulate when in the door, but I would not fit them, you would struggle to get them out without destroying them or at least bending them a lot more.

  13. I got mine from JK and they fitted fine, and am prety sure they were original VAG parts.

They did originally send me a non matching pair (one matt, and chrome) but happily sent a matching matt one when I pointed out the error - i wanted matt rather than chrome.

    Nick.
