there's a few areas i sprayed with a can and i needent have put as much on, the original paint is underneath, what removes it without damaging what's underneath? i've heard oven cleaner? any ideas?
We had patches of rustoleum rattle can paint in various places. We used various grades of wet and dry. It took a while but did the job. Oh if you do it this way buy a big tin of elbow grease
thinners will remove it... but if you only want to blend or change what there its gotta be a paste like g3 or t cut at a push..
t cut mixed 50 50 with thinners , i no the side of my car and 2 neighbours where done last week , thats how i removed it owen nw
ok cheers, bit of background, when i first got the van it had patches of red oxide in areas, instead of investigating why all the areas were done i just sprayed over them in a crap match rattle can,a few months after i tried to wet and dry a bit off to make it less noticable and discovered for a patch the size of a tennis ball the primer had been put on the size of a football, however i was a tad to agressive with the wet and dry so i've scratched a bit of the original good paint, i therefore was hoping to remove in layers less agressively so thinners may do this? do you mean proper auto paint thinners or will normal thinners from a diy store do?
I would guess thinners is the best way forward but Im no expert, plus Zed recommended thinners and I have never known him to be wrong.
