That's the breather hose. Copper washer either side and nip it up before the box gets too high sticking it back in. It vents along the top of the tank.
There's one on the front diff as well, which is easy to miss and break. Just sayin for when that needs to come out...
Not too much to go wrong in there tbh. Bearings and seal in the flange end and the pinion bearing which is pretty robust. I was chatting to the guru earlier, apparently you have a picture of an interesting door knob you should whatsapp across. I very nearly didn't ask...
wait till we pull yours apart! I'll show you the big muff in the nose cone and the little muff in the diff end. Both have shafts in them... #humourfortwelveyearolds
An Uber-early morning run up to Mid Wales to collect the ‘box completed so hopefully Monday will be dry-ish and I can get it shoved back up the van.
Well I’m cold and wet and feel beat up but the gearbox is in the van. This is not a job for one person as it turns out!! Took a while to get the gear linkage set up so I could find all gears but now it’s sorted it’s all changing nicely and smooooooth. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yup - went down Bemmie Asdawl, bunt off a chav who cut me up and got some fuel.... Took a while to get the linkage set up so I could get all the gears in the right places, but nice easy change now. Not put propshaft in as too knackered and it got dark... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
