Oddly I didn’t actually notice the difference I don’t think. Just nailed it more in the lower gears. You’d think the reduction in revs would be a good thing (if your a bit challenged like me). It’s a bit like having mahoosive chokes and it revs like crazy. You have to nail it everywhere. Reduced size and suddenly it’s a pleasure to drive and much less stressful!
I once drove my 1700 westy towing a trailer with two dinghies on it in 3rd at 60mph from Oxford to the top of the A34. Std solex carbs. Son and his mate had the stereo at full blast and I didn't notice until I had to change gear at the junction and couldn't find the gear lever. It was fine. You don't need Dells to do that unless your previous carbs were knackered...
Old carb was……. a single twin choke weber. That should tell you my carb issues Re torque or lack of it!
