  3. I have 2 one slightly better than the other (broken fins) this won't affect their use at all. They could both do with new valves and guides.
Like I said on the other thread they won't be cheap. £150 for the better one or £125 for the other. Sorry this is what they are worth to me.
If your interested I can sort some pics.

  4. i think that's a fair price there. oscar ,
150 is i would ask for also because i would bring my head to the machinist here at my cost .
for testing as well . so there would be no waste of time for everyone involved
.plus the post from Germany to would be more from here
    to allibus3.
. i might be intereted in the "leftover one "
("they are special heads from what i see. ? is that correct? ") you seem to know..?
im new on this forum .... i hope im not overposting ...

  5. Why not just buy a 2 litre new one and have it made up with new valves? These are hard to come by heads and are achieving platinum prices in any condition
    :)

  6. The only issue with that is you are looking at £25 per seat just on the machining costs... Then there is the cost of the new seats and valves...

If you're going to that extent, then you may as well go the whole hog and fit some proper size valves ;)

  7. Thanks Oscar, how far are you from Luton? I will need to factor in collection/postage costs l haven't heard back from Paul as yet
Pics of the better one would be good! ;-)

  8. Just waiting on my customer getting back to me...

  9. I'm about 60m from Luton. Not sure how much postage would be.

  10. Word is in... £150 as it is... but as I'd already mentioned, it needs new guides and valves, as I've already binned them off!! I have guides here, so that's no bother getting those fitted

  12. Paul,
    Similar questions to those I've just asked Oscar;

Gasket grove in place ? Are there any missing parts / damage?

I have guides as I was going to have both of mine refurbed. I haven't forked out for valves yet as these may be dependant upon what I end up with!

    Cheers

  13. By groove, do you mean step? I'll have a look tomorrow. If it has been machined out you just shim under the barrel to get the height correct. 1.5mm I believe.
If you need all the studs I can rob them from the other head. :)

  14. Step / grove yep, where the gasket would sit, not a big problem if it hasn't I know. :) All the studs would be best

  15. is it just me or has everyone missed the crack on the exhaust valve in pic 2? sorry to put a downer on it but I had the same probs when i was looking for a replacement a while back

  16. You may be right! I'll have to have a closer look when I get home. :)

  17. sorry oscar! i bought a head that looked great but on closer inspection found a crack in about the same place. it was gutting because I was ready to fit it when i noticed the problem.

  18. I'm not going to say too much until I've had a proper look. But I'll be a bit miffed if it is a crack! I paid good money for it off a well respected member who told me it had been checked.

Edit just to add, if it is a crack I'm sure it was a genuine mistake by the seller. :)

  19. Oh yeah! Well spotted, that will be dissapointing :( I was thinking that to be sure, you would need to remove the valves for a good look.
