1976 Original paint Microbus Clipper in ocean blue/lotus white paint German built bus imported from Washington USA so LHD Factory 2.0L type 4 Fuel injection engine and 6 rib gear box With Factory servo assisted disk brakes This is a very original and solid bus still retaining all original chassy rails top hats outriggers jacking points floors arches etc even original inner and outer sills with original paint still present. Have owned this bus since July 2019 and have completed all the work listed below to a very high standard(I maintain/certify multi million pound machines for a living) It’s currently our daily driver /second car until my wife,s long awaited Electric company car arrives from vw Work completed includes-: cargo floor/cab floor repair and battery tray replaced using Alan schofield panels Brakes fully overhauled front and back (new disks/pads and new rear shoes, callipers stripped and overhauled +new hoses all round New KYB shocks front and back new ignition / wiper switches and new wiper motor and arms Full Dodomat sound deadening fitted Fuel injection system all gone over with new injector seals and all new (Gates)fuel lines Fuel tanks been removed and throughly cleaned out with all new fuel tank filler hoses and vent hoses etc. Engine has been removed and Top end (heads/barrels etc stripped /cleaned up /valves re lapped etc and put back together with new piston rings and seals etc. Engine has been overhauled at some time in USA and feels nice and tight with no end play and has never overheated etc so decided not to fully strip and rebuild it. It also appears to have a Porsche 914 camshaft installed along with German Mhale piston/barrels when overhauled!) It certainly pulls well on the motorway and keeps up and stops with modern traffic. I regularly cruise at 70 mph (at around 3000 rpm)on the motorway to Gatwick and back with no issues even in 30 degree outside temperatures Also fitted new uk spec heat exchangers with vintage speed stainless exhaust etc to supply heat to the cab Has also had new windscreen and new deluxe window rubbers fitted 2 westy Louvered windows fitted with new seals New rear deluxe window seal New rear side deluxe window seal Vw heritage slot mags with Michelin chunky all weathervan tyres fitted Buttys bits linkage and new gas pedal New clutch + accelerator cable New Halogen headlight assembly’s (for uk) New front inertia reel seatbelts just Kampers full width adjustable rock and roll bed Mazda leather seats (heating not yet connected) hidden (in glovebox) Bluetooth stereo with app connect so can use phone to control Spotify /volume etc Radio is connected to second battery with split charge relay for charging Engine serviced with new oil/plugs/oil filter/air filter , new HT leads + Bosch blue coil. please feel free to come and have a look and even bring your mates /mechanic to chat and check over van for yourself. To sum up this is a very solid van that needs no welding at all to underside or chassis and still retains original inner/outer sills with original paint so you know there’s no dodgy repairs or inch thick filler under a shiny new paint job There’s a bit of a build thread on here somewhere covering most of work done selling due to recent house move (need to pay bank of mum and dad back some deposit money) and also lack of parking space due to also already having a Splitscreen in the garage.
