The later ones have a fairly close fitting dust and oil seal Mike. Assuming that's what complements this linear bearing mularky. Will let you know
looks like the bearings are available here https://www.123bearing.co.uk/bearings-F80574-INA#container-tech-schema However, our bearing supplier at work say the 'F' in the INA part number dictates it’s a special i.e. made for a manufacturer only (INA F80574)
We have an F special INA drawn cup bearing in the syncro and 5 speed 094 box that supports the end of the main shaft. 2 years ago they were approx 9 quid. Then they went up to 30 and onwards to 70 before UK stocks ran out. The last ones sold openly were 160 euro from one of the main retailers. I bought the last 18 left anywhere (not at 160 I hasten to add but from the primary stockist who was supplying the retailers, I'm not that daft) and now have 3 left. There has been an 'alternative' offered for the application which is a modified off the shelf NK bearing but they don't fit well. It's stuff like this that is some what worrisome. Oh and edit @bluerustybucket , I've just logged in to my Weddle account out of curiosity and can buy the nose cone bearings for the bay box (207) in hundreds quantities for less than a large fries at McDonalds so I think we'll be ok...
Not sure, but they started around 1975. We didn't get much trouble with boxes when the 091 boxes were introduced.
