SOLD 3 rib gearbox off a type 4 - SOLD

Discussion in 'Late Bay Parts Classifieds' started by Deefer66, Nov 6, 2021.

  1. VW three rib Type 2 bus latebay gearbox 091 Bellhouse.

CE code 002 gearbox three rib (1600/1700) with a 091 bellhousing

Came off a 1800 type 4 engine bus as I've gone up to 2ltr so went to a 6 rib box

Just refreshed with a clean up and paint and changed input and drive seals and new drive flange seals so should be good to go once refilled with oil.

Was working fine when I took it out but I'm not gearbox builder so sold as seen but I've done what I did to my new one before it went in with seals etc to save you.

Any questions feel free to ask..

Code makes it a Feb 1973 box if thats important to you

I have a decent throw out bearing I can pop on hasn't seen much use and is smooth and the cable clamp and connecting arm assembly were still in the diesel wash when i took photos.. forgot to put them back on!.. so I'll put that back on too

£325 colect from Northwich or deliverd if not too far for fuel cost (T2 fuel economy rates )[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

If it helps, I just strap mine with rope around the bell housing and gear carrier casting
Tie loops in the end of the ropes then tension the rope with cable ties.

  8. They go in a "tote" crate too, well Beetle box's do, I guess a Bay box is longer.

thanks one more thing can you give me the rough sizes

  12. 1160mm by 800mm by 550 High .. could take a saw to the pallet and reduce the 1160 to 660mm if I put it like this..[IMG]

But that puts it closer to edges.
