The sun was shining last Saturday and I had this overwhelming urge to just sack work off and go on a road trip in the camper...oh well we can dream, eh! Instead we decided to get Wilma and drive along the North Wales coast, dropping off when we felt like it, with no plan or map or satnav. We got as far as LLandudno via the gorgeous beach at Rhyl. I can't believe I have never been up the Great Orme (mountain) in LLandudno. What have I been missing all my life?! You pay £2.50 to drive around the one-way, one car width coastal road and we did the 3 hair-pin bends to ascend to the summit... sheer rock faces on the left and sheer drops to the sea on the right. Breath-taking and one of the best drives I have had in a while. You know, when you are smiling like a loon just driving along, feeling like 'this is it, what more do I need in life' Just a few photos to get you in the mood to drag yer van out on a lickle trip yourself this winter, before the snow/ice makes driving too risky. These photos don't do it justice, but go do this trip for yourself-you will not be disappointed
We said at the time we will organise a little weekend camping trip to this area in the summer. A convoy in vw's to the summit would be amazing.
